Use to archive old .ai/runs context; active or uncertain runs stay unpacked.
Keep recent run context easy to read and combine all older, finished runs
selected by one invocation into a single .tgz archive in the same runs directory,
reducing the number of loose files. Preview locally; deliver authorized
rotation through the om-auto-create-pr skill in an isolated worktree. Run once
and report; do not install a schedule.
--keep-days <N> — retain N UTC calendar days (default ; integer ≥1).Version history
--runs-dir <path> — repository-relative run root; otherwise use
paths.runs from .ai/agentic.config.json (default .ai/runs). Archives
always stay in this directory.--exclude <name> — repeatable, exact top-level run name to leave unpacked.--dry-run — preview without writing archives or removing sources.Explicit arguments win over defaults in the same-name repo-local extension. Agentic setup — read references/agentic-setup.md and
references/rules.md. This skill uses paths.runs, the configured tracker
descriptor, and read-only list-prs, get-pr, search-prs operations
to protect artifacts still referenced by open PRs. The delegated PR skill owns
tracker mutations, claims, validation, labels, and review.
Resolve scope and protect live context. Resolve the repository root and
arguments per references/rotation.md. Inventory top-level run folders and
.md plans. Exclude this session's run, live claims/leases, unfinished plans,
and every open PR's Tracking plan: / Tracking run folder: path. Fetch
all pages of open PRs; a truncated or failed lookup is not proof of absence.
Keep ambiguous or unverifiable candidates unpacked and explain why. Confirm
that no worker is writing eligible runs; a maintenance lock only excludes
another maintenance invocation.
Preview the rotation. Run the bundled scripts/rotate-runs.py with
resolved arguments and every protected name as --exclude. With no mutation
flag it prints JSON only. Follow references/rotation.md for age boundaries,
naming, tool requirements, and blocked paths. Stop here for --dry-run.
Deliver the rotation through a PR. Follow references/pr-delivery.md:
invoke om-auto-create-pr with the resolved retention, run root, exclusions,
helper location, and archive safeguards as its task brief. It must refresh
eligibility in its isolated worktree, protect its own tracking plan, archive
and verify one batch archive there, and commit it with all source removals.
Never apply rotation in the caller's checkout. If the companion skill is unavailable,
stop after preview and name the missing skill; do not fall back to local apply.
Report the result. Use references/report-templates.md: state the cutoff,
archived/retained/skipped counts, the single archive path, errors, and the delegated
PR's actual status and chaining reference. For restoration or interruption,
follow references/rotation.md. Existing resume and retrospective skills
read unpacked paths; restore a run before asking those skills to use it.
Consume retention, run-root and exclusion arguments and invoke om-auto-create-pr
by name for authorized rotation. Pass its complete brief per
references/pr-delivery.md; reuse a matching maintenance PR instead of opening
another. Relay its exact PR: reference (accept legacy PR_URL / PR_NUMBER
when consuming older output). Preview and no-op runs emit no PR reference.
.tgz archives. Delete an unpacked source only
after verifying its archive and confirming no writers can modify it.references/rules.md. Delegate publication to
om-auto-create-pr; preserve its claims, validation, review, QA gates, and
